To reach zero emission of CO2, large scale seasonal storage of electrical energy becomes paramount. The most practical approach to achieve this is chemical storage of this energy in the form of hydrogen.
Green hydrogen is produced by electrolysis of water using surplus green energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind via the grid. Efficient and bidirectional rectifiers are required to minimize the losses in this conversion
Goal: analog design and testing of a multilevel interleaved converter
Deliverables:
- Multilevel interleaved power converter design
- Topology selection
- Power semiconductor selection
- Design/selection of passive components
- Realization of a simulation model (MATLAB / Simulink / PLECS)
- Realization of a functioning prototype
